Getting to the Kanc

Conway is where the Kancamagus Highway (Route 112) begins. Route 112 runs from Conway to Lincoln, about 34.5 miles through the White Mountain National Forest. Scenic Inn is in town, not on the highway. Head west on Route 112 in the morning and you will have Lower Falls, Rocky Gorge and Sabbaday Falls to yourself before the tour buses arrive. Fill up on gas in Conway first: there are no services for the 34.5 miles to Lincoln.

Where to stay

Scenic Inn is a family-run 9-room inn in Conway, about 5 miles south of North Conway. Rooms are non-smoking. Rooms 204, 205, 206, 207, 208, and 209 have a balcony. Rooms 101, 102, and 103 do not. Up to 2 dogs, in rooms 102 and 103 only, at $25 per dog per night. Pet fees apply only when you bring a pet. No cats. A $250 fee applies for pets in non-pet rooms.
